Terms of Service
Last Updated: April 23, 2026
Welcome to UniTalent (“UniTalent”, “UT”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the UniTalent website, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Platform” or “Services”). By creating an account, accessing, or using our Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree with these Terms, you may not use the Platform.
1. What UniTalent Is
UniTalent is an online career record platform. The Platform allows individuals (“Candidates”) to build a structured career record by submitting information about their education, work experience, skills, projects, certifications, publications, awards, and other professional information (“Entries”).
Once a Candidate submits and locks an Entry, that Entry becomes part of the Candidate’s permanent record on the Platform and cannot be edited or deleted by the Candidate. This append-only structure is the core mechanism of the Platform. Candidates may continue to add new Entries over time, but they cannot modify or remove Entries they have already locked.
UniTalent offers a free tier that allows Candidates to build and lock their career record, and a paid tier (“Active Talent Pool”) that enables Candidates to be surfaced to recruiters, Applicant Tracking System partners (“ATS Partners”), and employers, and to generate a UniTalent Resume derived from their locked Entries.
UniTalent is not a recruiter, employer, background-check provider, or credential verification service. We do not make hiring decisions, provide employment guarantees, or independently verify the accuracy of Candidate-submitted information at the time of submission.
2. Who Can Use UniTalent
The Platform is intended for individuals who are at least eighteen (18) years old. By using UniTalent, you represent and warrant that you are at least eighteen years old, have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements, and are using the Platform for lawful purposes. UniTalent does not knowingly permit individuals under eighteen to use the Platform. If we become aware that an account has been created by or on behalf of an individual under eighteen, we will terminate that account and delete associated data promptly.
3. Your Account
To use most Platform features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You also receive a ledger key during onboarding. The ledger key is used to confirm each Entry lock. You are solely responsible for safeguarding your ledger key. UniTalent cannot recover a lost ledger key, and we cannot reverse or modify locked Entries on your behalf.
4. Candidate Entries and the Append-Only Record
4.1 Entry Submission
When you submit an Entry, you represent and warrant that the information is accurate, truthful, and complete to the best of your knowledge. You further represent that you have the right to share any information included in the Entry (including information about employers, institutions, or third parties).
4.2 Locking and Permanence
Once you lock an Entry, you cannot edit or delete it. Locking an Entry is a deliberate action that you confirm using your ledger key. By locking an Entry, you acknowledge and accept that the Entry will remain part of your UniTalent record indefinitely, subject only to limited circumstances described in these Terms (account deletion, legal requirement, or UniTalent’s removal rights for policy violations).
UniTalent does not and cannot guarantee that locked data is mathematically immutable in the cryptographic sense. The term “append-only” describes the Platform’s operational design: the Platform does not provide a user-facing feature to edit or delete locked Entries, and UniTalent employs technical and operational controls to preserve locked Entries against modification.
4.3 Account Deletion and Locked Entries
You may request deletion of your account at any time. Upon account deletion, your public profile will be taken offline and your locked Entries will be removed from the Active Talent Pool. Some record-keeping copies may be retained for legal, regulatory, or fraud-prevention purposes as described in the Privacy Policy. Account deletion does not reverse any sharing, download, or export of your information that occurred prior to deletion.
5. The Paid Tier (Active Talent Pool)
Candidates may upgrade to the Active Talent Pool on a subscription basis. Active Talent Pool members are included in a curated database that recruiters and ATS Partners may source from, and may download and share a UniTalent Resume derived from their locked Entries.
Subscription billing is handled by our Merchant of Record, Dodo Payments, as described in our Refund and Cancellation Policy. Membership in the Active Talent Pool continues for the duration of your active subscription. If your subscription ends (whether by cancellation, non-payment, or termination), you will be removed from the Active Talent Pool and lose access to the UniTalent Resume download feature.
Your locked Entries remain part of your record regardless of subscription status. Your public profile remains available under a free-tier indicator unless you delete your account.
6. Recruiter and ATS Partner Access
Recruiters, employers, and ATS Partners may access the Active Talent Pool and individual Candidate public profiles subject to a separate access agreement and UniTalent’s data-use policies. Access is provided solely for legitimate hiring, sourcing, and verification purposes and may not be used for targeted advertising, data resale, or any purpose inconsistent with these Terms.
ATS Partner integrations allow Candidates to submit their UniTalent record through an ATS Partner’s application flow. UniTalent does not control how an ATS Partner handles Candidate data after it is delivered through the integration; that handling is governed by the ATS Partner’s own terms and privacy policy.
7. Intellectual Property
All Platform content, software, interface designs, graphics, logos, and other materials are owned by UniTalent or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or otherwise exploit any part of the Platform without UniTalent’s prior written consent.
You retain ownership of the content you submit in your Entries. By submitting an Entry, you grant UniTalent a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content as necessary to operate the Platform, deliver the Services, and fulfill the purposes described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Platform to: (a) submit Entries containing false, misleading, or fraudulent information; (b) impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organization; (c) infringe another party’s intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights; (d) upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or any content designed to disrupt Platform operation; (e) attempt to access areas of the Platform for which you do not have authorization; or (f) scrape, harvest, or otherwise extract Platform data without written permission.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. UniTalent does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, and we do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of Candidate-submitted information.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, UniTalent, its officers, employees, affiliates, and licensors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of your use or inability to use the Platform, or any decision made in reliance on information obtained through the Platform, including hiring decisions.
10. Termination
UniTalent may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, suspected fraudulent activity, or misuse of the Platform. We may also terminate accounts that remain inactive for an extended period. Upon termination, your access to the Platform will end and your public profile will be removed. Locked Entries may be retained in accordance with our data retention practices described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles, except where local non-waivable rights apply under the laws of a user’s state or country of residence. Users in the United States are subject to applicable state laws in addition to Indian law, and UniTalent respects non-waivable U.S. state consumer-protection rights.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in India, or through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms as agreed between the parties, unless otherwise required by applicable local law.
12. Modifications
UniTalent reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform, by email, or by other reasonable means. Continued use of the Platform after updates take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to a revision, you must stop using the Platform and may request account deletion.
