Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund and Cancellation Policy (“Policy”) applies to paid subscriptions to UniTalent’s Active Talent Pool. It should be read alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which are incorporated by reference.
1. Overview of Paid Subscriptions
UniTalent offers a free tier that allows Candidates to build and lock their career record. UniTalent also offers a paid tier (“Active Talent Pool”) on a recurring subscription basis. Paid-tier benefits include inclusion in the talent database accessible to recruiters and Applicant Tracking System partners, the ability to download a UniTalent Resume derived from your locked Entries, and other features as described on the Platform.
Subscription pricing, billing frequency (monthly or annual), and available plans are displayed at checkout and may vary by region.
2. Merchant of Record and Payments
All subscription payments are processed through our Merchant of Record, Dodo Payments. Dodo Payments acts as the authorized reseller of our Services and will appear as the seller on your billing statement. Dodo Payments is responsible for payment processing, tax calculation, invoicing, and regulatory compliance relating to payments.

3. Subscription Renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle until canceled. By purchasing a subscription, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method at the then-current subscription price until cancellation. If your subscription price changes, we will notify you in advance of the renewal.
4. Cancellation
4.1 How to Cancel
You may cancel your subscription at any time by:
- Logging into your UniTalent account and using the cancellation option in the Settings page; or
- Contacting our support team at preetam@unitalent.cloud.
4.2 What Happens When You Cancel
When you cancel your subscription:
- Future renewals are stopped. You will not be charged again after the end of your current billing cycle.
- You will retain access to paid-tier features until the end of your current paid billing period.
- At the end of your current billing period, your account reverts to the free tier. You are removed from the Active Talent Pool, and the UniTalent Resume download feature becomes unavailable.
- Your locked Entries remain part of your record regardless of subscription status. Your public profile remains accessible, displaying the free-tier status indicator.
- Cancellation does not retroactively refund previous payments except as described in Section 5 below.
It is your responsibility to cancel before your renewal date if you do not want to be charged for the next billing cycle.
5. Refund Policy
5.1 General Policy
Because subscriptions provide immediate access to digital features, we generally do not offer refunds for subscription payments except in the following circumstances:
- Duplicate charges.
- Billing errors attributable to UniTalent or Dodo Payments.
- Technical failures that prevent access to core functionality and that we are unable to resolve within a reasonable timeframe.
- Where required by applicable consumer-protection law.
Where a refund is permitted under this Policy, refund requests must be submitted within seven (7) days of the charge date by contacting preetam@unitalent.cloud.
5.2 Non-Refundable Situations
We do not provide refunds for:
- Partial subscription periods.
- Unused time after cancellation.
- Failure to cancel before a renewal date.
- Change of mind.
- Lack of usage or non-engagement with paid features.
- Temporary or limited usage of paid features during the billing period.
5.3 Refund Processing
If a refund is approved:
- It will be processed through Dodo Payments.
- The refund will be issued to the original payment method.
- Processing times typically range from five (5) to ten (10) business days, depending on your bank or payment provider.
- Transaction processing fees may be non-refundable where permitted by applicable law.
6. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Because payments are processed by Dodo Payments as Merchant of Record, chargebacks and payment disputes are handled through Dodo Payments’ formal dispute-resolution process.
If you initiate a chargeback without contacting us first, we reserve the right to:
- Suspend or terminate your UniTalent account.
- Remove you from the Active Talent Pool.
- Restrict your future access to the Services.
- Submit usage and transaction records to Dodo Payments and the issuing bank in support of our position in the dispute.
We strongly encourage you to contact us first at preetam@unitalent.cloud to resolve any billing issue before initiating a chargeback.
7. Effect of Cancellation or Termination on Your Record
Cancellation of your paid subscription does not delete your career record. Your locked Entries remain on the Platform, and your public profile remains accessible, with the free-tier status indicator displayed.
If you wish to fully remove your career record and public profile, you must request account deletion. Account deletion is governed by our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Deletion removes your profile from the public Platform within thirty (30) days, subject to limited retention as required by law or for fraud prevention, as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Statutory Rights
Nothing in this Policy limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under applicable law. Where local law requires refund rights, cooling-off periods, or other consumer protections beyond what is described in this Policy, those rights apply. This includes, without limitation:
- Consumer rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (India).
- State-specific consumer-protection rights under applicable U.S. state law.
- EU/UK distance-selling and digital-content consumer rights, where applicable.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund and Cancellation Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, our billing practices, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the Platform, by email, or by other reasonable means, and update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Policy. Your continued use of paid features after the effective date of the updated Policy constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
